ORION was founded in 2009 as a family-owned and operated security company serving Marin, Sonoma, and the Greater North Bay. The company has grown around a practical idea: security works best when officers are trained, managers are involved, and clients know what is happening on their property.
Peter Sunke, President and C.E.O., and Michelle Sunke, Vice-President and C.F.O., remain active in daily operations. They oversee client communication, staffing needs, post-order updates, and the details that keep each assignment clear for the officers in the field.
ORION supports residential communities, commercial properties, events, executives, investigations, patrol programs, and emergency coverage. Each program is built around the site, the schedule, the client policies, and the level of visibility or discretion required.
The company is also rooted in the community it serves, with local relationships that help ORION better understand the properties, businesses, and neighborhoods it protects.

The Officers
How ORION officers are selected, trained, and assigned.
ORION officers work in residential communities, commercial properties, events, patrol routes, and special assignments throughout the North Bay. Some posts require a visible uniformed presence. Others require plainclothes discretion, access control, reporting, or patrol response.
The team includes professionally trained former law enforcement, military, and security personnel who are state certified and background screened.

Peter is directly involved in operations, client relations, field expectations, and the standards officers are expected to uphold on site. He is also connected with Novato civic and community efforts, local county and community organizations, and is a member of the Marin Builders Association.
Michelle Sunke
Michelle helps guide the company with the same hands-on approach, supporting communication, accountability, and the details behind dependable service.
