Who We Are & What This Policy Covers
This Privacy Policy ("Policy") describes how ORION Protection Services Group, Inc. ("ORION," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and discloses information about you when you visit www.orionprotectionservices.com (the "Site") or otherwise interact with us. By visiting the Site, directly or through another site, you accept the terms of this Policy.
This Policy applies only to this Site. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of any website not operated by us that links to, or is linked from, this Site.
If you have questions about this Policy at any time, contact us at protectme@orionprotectionservices.com.
Children's Privacy
We believe it is important to provide added protection for children online, and we encourage parents and guardians to observe, participate in, and monitor their children's online activity.
ORION does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If you believe your child has provided personal information through this Site, please contact us immediately and we will promptly remove that information from our records.
By using this Site, you represent that you are at least 18 years of age or are using the Site under the supervision of a parent or guardian. If you are under 13, do not submit any personal information to us; please rely on a parent or guardian to assist you.
Information We Collect
Information You Provide to Us
Before using certain portions of this Site, or when you request information about our company or services, you may be asked to complete an online contact form. Depending on the form, you may be asked to provide personal information, including but not limited to:
- First and last name
- Email address
- Phone number
- Address (business, service, and/or billing address)
We use this information to communicate with you about your service requests and the Site, and for our own internal marketing purposes. If we encounter a problem while processing a request, this information may be used to contact you.
Information Collected Automatically
We may automatically collect certain information about you when you access or use the Site, including:
- Log information: Like most websites, we use standard log files. These record internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), date and time stamps, referring and exit pages, and click counts. This information is not linked to anything personally identifiable and is used to analyze trends, administer the Site, track visitor movement, and gather demographic information.
- Usage data: Information about how the Site is accessed and used, such as the pages you visit, the time and date of your visit, time spent on pages, unique device identifiers, and other diagnostic data.
- Device information: Information about the computer or mobile device you use to access the Site, such as hardware model, operating system and version, unique device identifiers, mobile network information, and browsing behavior.
- Location information: Information about the precise location of your device when you consent to that collection, and information about your approximate location each time you access the Site.
- Cookies and web beacons: Like most websites, we use cookies to store visitor preferences and record which pages a visitor accesses, so we can optimize your experience. You can disable cookies through your browser settings; see "Cookies & Online Advertising" below.
Information from Other Sources
We may receive information about you from other sources and combine it with the information we already have. For example, we may receive demographic or change-of-address information from third-party sources, or information from social media platforms if you interact with us there or make content publicly available.
Social Media Features
The Site may include social media features, such as share or follow buttons. These features may collect your IP address and the page you are visiting, and may set a cookie so the feature functions properly. Social media features are hosted either by a third party or directly on the Site; your interactions with them are governed by the privacy policy of the company providing the feature.
General Browsing
Whether or not you are a client, we collect anonymous data about visits to the Site, including the pages visited, the device, operating system and browser used, network connection, IP address, and date/time stamps. If you are a client or employee, we also collect data about how and when you access your account. This helps us see which areas of the Site are most visited and improve the quality of the online experience.
Offline Collection
We may also collect information offline — for example, when you call us to request service or ask a question. We will ask only for the personal information we need to respond, and any information collected offline is treated in a manner consistent with this Policy.
How We Use Your Information
Internal Use
We use your personal information to process your requests and provide customer service. We may store and use your personal information internally to improve the Site's content and layout, to improve outreach, for our own marketing efforts (including marketing our services to you), and to understand general marketplace information about Site visitors.
Communications with You
We use your personal information to communicate with you about the Site and your services. We may send a confirmation email when you fill out a contact form, and we may send service-related announcements on the rare occasions when it is necessary (for example, if service must be temporarily suspended). If you submit your email address or phone number — for example, to request a quote or apply for employment — we may use it to deliver the information you requested.
You may unsubscribe or opt out of future marketing emails or phone calls at any time. Because we must communicate with you about requests you choose to place, you cannot opt out of communications directly related to those requests.
Where you have given consent, or where permitted based on legitimate interests, we may contact you directly or through a third-party service provider by:
- Text (SMS) messages
- Telephone calls
- Automated phone calls or text messages
You do not need to provide consent to marketing communications as a condition of purchasing our services.
How We Share Information
Our General Rule
Except as set forth in this Policy, we do not sell, rent, trade, license, or otherwise disclose your specific personal or financial information to anyone.
Trusted Service Providers
We may share personal data with affiliated companies within our corporate family and with trusted third-party service providers as necessary for them to perform services on our behalf, such as:
- Serving advertisements
- Conducting contests or surveys
- Performing analysis of our services and customer demographics
- Communicating with you, such as by email or survey delivery
- Customer relationship management
We share only the personal data necessary for these third parties to provide the requested services. They (and any subcontractors) are subject to strict data processing terms and are prohibited from using, sharing, or retaining your personal data for any purpose other than what they have been specifically contracted for, or without your consent.
Legal Requirements
We may access, preserve, and disclose your personal data and content in the good-faith belief that such action is necessary to:
- Comply with a legal obligation or law enforcement request, such as a subpoena, bankruptcy proceeding, or similar legal process
- Protect and defend the rights or property of ORION Protection Services Group, Inc.
- Prevent or investigate possible wrongdoing in connection with our services
- Protect the personal safety of users of our services or the public
- Protect against legal liability
We may also release personal information where disclosure is necessary to protect our legal rights, enforce our Terms of Service or other agreements, or protect ourselves or others — for example, to reduce the risk of fraud or where someone uses or attempts to use the Site for illegal purposes.
Business Transfers
We do not sell, trade, or rent personally identifiable information to other companies as part of our regular course of business. However, if we acquire, merge with, are acquired by another company, or dispose of some or all of our assets, your personal information may be disclosed to another company. Any such disclosure will remain subject to the Privacy Policy in effect.
Aggregate Information
We may share non-personal, aggregate information — such as the number of daily visitors to a particular page — with third parties such as advertising partners. This information does not personally identify you or any individual user.
Cookies & Online Advertising
How We Use Cookies
ORION uses cookies to store information about visitor preferences, record which pages a visitor accesses or visits, and personalize web page content based on browser type or other information sent by your browser. We do not respond to Do Not Track (DNT) signals.
If you prefer not to accept cookies, you can set your browser to disallow cookies entirely or to alert you when a site uses one. The exact method varies by browser; consult your browser's Help option for directions. Note that if you reject or block all cookies, some features of the Site may not function properly.
Third-Party Cookies
Third parties with content embedded on the Site, such as social media features, may set cookies on your browser and/or learn that your browser visited a specific website from a certain IP address. Third parties cannot collect any other personally identifiable information from the Site unless you provide it to them directly. Visitors who click a link or advertisement, visit a third-party site, or interact with third-party content are subject to the privacy policies of those third parties.
Analytics & Advertising Partners
We use Google Analytics, including its third-party audience data (such as age, gender, and interests), to better understand visitor behavior and identify trends in the usage of the Site. This information is used internally only. We have also implemented Display Advertising features, such as Google Analytics Remarketing. Third-party vendors, including Google, may show our ads on sites across the internet and may use first-party cookies (such as the Google Analytics cookie) and third-party cookies together to report how ad impressions and interactions relate to visits to the Site.
Third-party remarketing vendors may place cookies on web browsers in order to serve ads based on past visits to our website. This allows us to continue to market our services to those who have shown interest in them. We do not collect any personally identifiable information through any third-party remarketing system.
Your Advertising Choices
You can control how Google uses cookies for advertising by visiting Google's Advertising Technologies page, customize or opt out of Google Display Network ads at Google Ads Settings, and prevent your data from being used by Google Analytics with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. You may also opt out of interest-based advertising from participating ad networks at the industry opt-out page at aboutads.info/choices.
Data Security
We store and process your personal information on our systems in the United States and elsewhere in the world where our facilities are located. We protect your information using reasonable technical and administrative security measures designed to reduce the risks of loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, and alteration. Safeguards we use include firewalls, data encryption, physical access controls at data centers, and information access authorization controls.
The security of your data is important to us — but no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. You acknowledge and agree that our security measures are not a guarantee of security and that we are not responsible for loss or misuse of your personal information.
Please do not email your credit card number or other sensitive information to us — or to anyone — over the internet.
How Long We Keep Your Information
We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to provide the services you have requested, or for other essential purposes such as complying with our legal obligations, resolving disputes, and enforcing our policies.
Your Choices & Corrections
Upon your request, we will (a) correct or update your personal information, (b) stop sending emails to your email address, and/or (c) disable your account to prevent future activity through it. You can make these requests by emailing us at protectme@orionprotectionservices.com.
Your California Privacy Rights
California law permits users who are California residents to request and obtain from us, once a year and free of charge, a list of the third parties to whom we have disclosed their personal information (if any) for those parties' direct marketing purposes in the prior calendar year, along with the type of personal information disclosed. As noted above, we do not currently share personal information with third parties for their own direct marketing purposes.
Updates to This Policy
If we change or update this Privacy Policy, we will post the changes on this page so that you are always aware of what information we collect, use, and disclose. We encourage you to review this Policy from time to time.
Consent & Contact
By using our website, you consent to this Privacy Policy and agree to its terms.
